DO RE WE NEWS

Grand opening of DoReWe music rooms in Kamnik center

On Friday, September 6th, we were particularly excited as we officially celebrated the opening of DoReWe Music School, which had found its place in the center of Kamnik a few months ago. The opening day was wrapped in musical events and socializing, both by the mentors and our students. Student Nace impressed the guests with an aria from the opera Carmen, while mentors Boris, Nevena, and Sara musically caressed us at the piano with jazz melodies. Later, the event transformed into a real Jam Session, where we created unforgettable memories of the evening with our mentor Janez on drums and to the sounds of the guitar.

Enrollment in the school year of 2024/25

September is here, and with it comes a new school year. At DoReWe, this is also a time to meet familiar and new faces who share our love for music. To help you decide how to spend your afternoons after school and engage in music, we present our music programs. Namely:

PIANO is a classical instrument that always touches the soul. With a wide selection of white and black keys, in piano lessons, you learn to press the right ones, master music theory, and gain confidence through performances, quickly becoming a true virtuoso.

PIANO WITH SINGING offers something very appealing: singing your favorite songs with your own accompaniment. With piano music theory and vocal techniques, you're ready to perform anytime, anywhere.

SINGING is for everyone who wants to do a bit more than just sing in the shower. In singing lessons, you learn proper vocal technique, breathing, interpretation, and build your stage confidence through performances.

DRUMS invite anyone who harbors a lot of rhythm and energy. In drum lessons, you discover new rhythms through various songs and master percussion theory.

GUITAR always sounds wonderful, whether in company, in a band, or solo. In guitar lessons, you learn the right chords, theory, and your favorite songs.

MUSICALS is a new program suitable for all aspiring actors, singers, and dancers. In these lessons, you learn the elements of this musical-theatrical genre, create musical productions together, and perform frequently.

FANTASTIC TIP

#22 How to choose the right extracurricular activity

Today, the offer of extracurricular activities is extremely diverse and varied. Parents enroll children in activities we believe will benefit them, but it's important to also hear the child's wishes and consider their interests, enjoyment, and talent.

If you choose an activity solely based on your own ambitions, ignoring your child's desires, you'll face reluctance and resistance. The child should explore various activities, but also persist with their chosen one, as changing demanding activities every year doesn't bear fruit. You don't earn a black belt in one year, nor do you master a musical instrument. The number of extracurricular activities depends on the chosen activity, but primarily on the child - their character, energy, perseverance, curiosity, motivation, and the ambition of the parents. Some activities occur multiple times a week, so perhaps one such activity is enough. Other activities happen only once a week, allowing the child to attend several simultaneously. You know your child best, so you're most aware of how much extracurricular relaxation and engagement they need without becoming overtired or letting their schoolwork suffer.

Music School as an Extracurricular Activity

Music education, engaging with music, and playing a musical instrument positively impact the brain and the overall social development of a child. Through musical activity, a child will develop a positive attitude towards music, work habits, self-discipline, perseverance, concentration, and will form a positive self-image. Playing an instrument also positively affects memory, physical development, flexibility, and skills.

Perhaps your child won't become a professional musician, but playing for the soul will accompany them in happy or difficult moments throughout all stages of life. If you discover that your child has an exceptional sense and aptitude for music, enable them to have contact with music and musical instruments from the earliest age. The DoReWe Music School offers exactly this. A selection of different programs for various interests and ages, whether it's playing for the soul, getting acquainted with instruments, or the desire for a music career.
