DO RE WE NEWS

Mini Musical Pumpkin Roundhead at Supernova Rudnik

On Saturday morning, October 26th, the Supernova Rudnik shopping center came to life in the spirit of the approaching Halloween. Students and mentors from the DoReWe Musicals program, in collaboration with dancers from the Miki dance school, once again performed the mini musical titled "Pumpkin Roundhead".

The young performers captivated the attention of many children and passing shoppers with their energetic performance, who enjoyed the entertaining story. The performance, thematically linked to Halloween, creatively combined singing, dancing, and acting. "Pumpkin Roundhead" took the audience into a world of imagination and revealed the secret behind the origin of Halloween. The collaboration between the singers and the Miki dance school dancers, who enriched the event with their wonderful choreographies, was particularly impressive.

The DoReWe regular MUSICALS program is a new addition this school year. We are proud that the students and mentors were able to open the DoReWe musical season and prepare such a wonderful performance in a short time. We look forward to all their future performances, which will surely continue to delight audiences of all ages.

Student Nace on the television show Krompirjev oder

In the popular youth program "Krompirjev oder" on RTV Slovenia, we were able to follow the interview and performance of our ambitious student Nace, who presented his passion for opera singing with his charisma and exceptional voice.

Nace, who develops his talent under the mentorship of Nevena Josić, chose the demanding aria Habanera from the opera Carmen. His sincere enthusiasm for opera music touched both the hosts and the viewers of the show.

Backstage, his singing mentor Nevena proudly accompanied him, as she recognized and awakened the love for opera singing in the young singer. The performance on the "Krompirjev oder" program certainly represents an important milestone in Nace's musical journey and proof that opera can also inspire younger generations. We are proud that we can support students like Nace in realizing their musical dreams.

You can watch Nace's performance in the RTV Slovenia archives, where you will be able to feel his dedication and passion for opera singing, which has captivated viewers across Slovenia.

Education of mentors

On Saturday, October 5th, the mentors of the DoReWe music school spent an educational and inspiring afternoon, where they were trained on various approaches to conducting music lessons. During the lecture, our fitness trainer Archie also joined the leader, adding his furry approach to liven up the atmosphere.

The mentors were thoroughly acquainted with tricks to liven up the lessons, games to facilitate the acquisition of music theory, the advantages and disadvantages of individual and group teaching, and they exchanged opinions and their own experiences. In addition to current pedagogical topics, the mentors were also informed about the upcoming concerts and performances that will enrich the creative path of their students in this school year. Such training of our mentors is crucial for maintaining the high quality of teaching in our school.

FANTASTIC TIP

#23 Group lessons

Parents often wonder if group lessons are the right choice for their child. The answer is almost always affirmative. This may seem unusual at first, but in practice, it has proven to be an excellent path for encouraging and developing young musicians. Children in a group, develop numerous skills that will benefit them not only in their musical pursuits but also in everyday life.

The most important advantage of group lessons is undoubtedly the social component. Students learn to cooperate, provide mutual support, and encourage one another. Within the group, they develop communication skills, form friendships, learn from each other, and listen to one another. Very often, they also compete with each other, and as a result, practice more. This facilitates the learning process and builds values that are important for the holistic development of young people.

Group lessons are also more efficient from the perspective of time and cost. Teachers can instruct multiple students simultaneously, which enables the school to offer more affordable tuition fees. For parents and students, this means a significant financial relief.

In group lessons, it is also easier to broaden musical horizons. Students are exposed to a diverse range of musical genres, learn from each other, and are encouraged to experiment and create. They often even get their own roles within a larger musical ensemble or more complex compositions. This leads to a more receptive attitude towards music and greater enthusiasm for it.

Abroad, this teaching method is already established and tested. Studies show that in countries where group music teaching is a norm, students achieve better results, have a more positive attitude towards music, and maintain music as a part of their lives for longer, if not for life. It's enough to look at successful musicians like Franz Liszt, Yo-Yo Ma, or Martha Argerich to convince ourselves that this approach can be effective here as well.

So, if you are a parent who wants your child to enjoy music, develop, and build valuable skills, we invite you to join us for group lessons. We believe the results may pleasantly surprise you.
