DO RE WE NEWS
Musical: Ella's Impossible Dream in the Presidential Palace
On Thursday, December 12th, we experienced an unforgettable evening as we proudly presented the children’s musical Ella's Impossible Dream in the magnificent Crystal Hall of the Presidential Palace. This unique event was dedicated to the children of government employees, who, along with the Prime Minister, Dr. Robert Golob, formed an enthusiastic audience.
The opportunity to perform in such a prestigious venue is a tremendous honor and recognition for the DoReWe Music School, filling us with immense pride. Our students brought the story of Ella the elephant to life through music, singing, and acting, teaching lessons of courage, friendship, and the power of dreams. Together with the exceptional dancers from the Ballet School Ana, whose elegance and grace beautifully complemented the narrative, they created an evening that will be remembered for a long time by all in attendance. The audience was deeply moved by the story and the professionalism and performance of the young participants. Following the inspiring show, the Prime Minister delivered a speech, and a visit from Santa Claus added the perfect finishing touch to this festive evening for the children in the audience.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this exceptional event possible—from the organizers and mentors to the parents and friends who support us and our young artists on their journey. We are also grateful to the Ballet School Ana for their outstanding collaboration, which elevated the musical to an even higher level.
Merry December with DoReWe
December is a month of festive moments, warmth, and music, and at DoReWe Music School, this is no exception. We enriched December 2024 with a vibrant program and events that delighted our students, their parents, and the wider community. We are excited to share highlights from these festive occasions, which warmed hearts and brought the true Christmas spirit to life.
Lighting of the Christmas Lights in Kamnik
Our festive musical journey began on December 1st in the main square of Kamnik. On that magical Sunday, with performances by our mentors and other artists, we officially kicked off the holiday season, illuminating the center of Kamnik with music and sparkling lights.
Musical Performance of Christmas Carols in Domžale and Kamnik
On Saturday, December 7th, in the main square of Domžale, and Sunday, December 8th, in the main square of Kamnik, our students showcased their talents with classic Christmas carols, delicate piano compositions, and heartfelt stories that evoked the true essence of the holiday spirit. The young performers conveyed the meaning of Christmas with sincerity and joy, and the audience rewarded their effort and musical talent with warm applause.
Musically-creative Workshop for Children
The festive spirit continued on December 8th and 10th when we hosted music and creativity workshops for children at the DoReWe School. Accompanied by the sounds of Christmas music, the children sang, played musical games, and created unique instruments and headpiece costumes. The workshop was filled with laughter, creativity, and teamwork, bringing us even closer together during this joyous holiday season.
Musical Sleepover at DoReWe
On Friday, December 20th, after two months of hard work, rehearsals, and stunning performances that captivated audiences, the students from the musical program earned a well-deserved break with a proper sleepover party. The DoReWe classrooms in Kamnik resonated with a night full of laughter, games, singing, and dancing, celebrating friendship and shared achievements. Though there wasn’t much sleeping involved, the students proved they are a true team, where connection and creativity go hand in hand every step of the way.
Pop choir: grand Christmas concert
The highlight of the festive season took place on Tuesday, December 17th, when our students performed at the grand Christmas concert of Pop Choir at Španski Borci. Under the direction of Nikola Nikolić, the choir delivered an unforgettable evening with their energy and outstanding performances. We are delighted and proud to have participated, presenting excerpts from the musical Ella's Impossible Dream in a concert rendition. Together, we created a magical atmosphere that will remain a cherished memory for everyone involved.
DoReWe Christmas concert
On Saturday, December 14th, a magical event brought the festive spirit to life at the Cultural Center in Radomlje, Christmas concert of DoReWe Music School.
The stage came alive with approximately 90 students performing in two sessions, at 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Their talent, dedication, and charm created a true musical spectacle. The performers ranged from seasoned students who have been honing their musical skills for years to newcomers who joined the school just this September. Each of them impressed the audience with their passion and exceptional energy.
The concert was a journey through diverse musical worlds, featuring piano and vocal solos as well as group performances that blended melodies with singing and piano. The program included timeless Christmas classics that reminded the audience of the approaching holidays, alongside other pieces showcasing the school’s diverse and creative repertoire. A special highlight of this year’s concert was a drum solo, which surprised and delighted the audience at the end of the program.
The students’ performances reflected the hard work and love they have invested in their musical education, creating an unforgettable conclusion to 2024. The Christmas concert was more than just a concert, it was a magical gathering of music, festive cheer, and community.
Bravo to all the performers and mentors who ensured we could step into the festive season with smiles on our faces and melodies in our hearts. We can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store for us!
FANTASTIC TIP
#25 Add some music to your holidays
The holidays are the perfect time to incorporate music into your daily moments and create a special atmosphere. Here are some simple ideas for how music can add magic to your celebrations:
Holiday Playlist: Create your own playlist of favorite tunes, from classic Christmas hits to personal favorites. Play it while decorating, cooking, or wrapping gifts.

Home Concert: Invite the family to each share their favorite song. Children can sing or play, while adults can add a touch of nostalgia to the mix.
Music While Socializing: Organize a karaoke night or simply sing well-known holiday songs together. The joy of singing will undoubtedly bring smiles to everyone’s faces.
Relaxing with Music: At the end of the day, light some candles, play calming music, and take a moment to unwind. Classical or instrumental pieces are a perfect choice for this peaceful time.
May the melodies of the holidays bring smiles and unforgettable moments with your loved ones!
