DO RE WE NEWS
DoReWe Family day filled hearts and the Hall
On Saturday evening, March 22nd, the Kamnik Cultural Centre resonated with music that brought generations together. The traditional spring concert DoReWe Family day delighted both the audience and performers for the third year in a row, as they shared their love of music and family in a magical atmosphere.
The evening was opened by mentors Boris and Nevena with a beautiful performance of a song from Disney’s Tangled, transporting the audience into a fairytale world of music and emotion. The event continued with warm welcoming words from the host and a proverb: “Family is the link to our past, the bridge to our future, and a shelter in the storm.” This sentiment echoed throughout the concert, which was a blend of talent and heartfelt emotion.
The stage welcomed students of the DoReWe Music Center, their family members, and mentors, who presented a diverse program – from tender duets, pop hits, classical piano pieces, and Slovenian waltzes with accordion, to a rock family band and even musical theatre songs. What made the concert truly special was the strong sense of connection, as friends, brothers, sisters, aunts and nieces, parents and children performed together, showing how music can go beyond words.
At the end of the evening, the host proudly emphasized: “Each performance, unique in its own way, is a testament to the beauty we experience when we unite music and family.”
The evening concluded with a lighthearted thought: “Family is like music – sometimes a note may be off, but if we play with heart, we create a beautiful melody together.”
Indeed, music has the power to connect us, to heal, and to create unforgettable memories — something the performers at Family day beautifully proved.

Thank you all for being part of our DoReWe family,
for supporting and encouraging us on our musical journey!
Musical Ella's Impossible impressed at the Kekec Meeting of Childrens' Theater Groups
On Monday morning, March 3rd, the Kamnik Cultural Centre was filled with anticipation as the young actors, singers, and dancers of our DoReWe musical Ella’s Impossible Dream took the stage at the area level of this year’s Kekec Meeting of Children’s Theatre Groups. The performance, created under the wing of the DoReWe Music Center in collaboration with the Šinšin Dance Club and the Ballet School Ana, filled the hall to the very last seat and enchanted the audience.
Among the audience were students from the first five grades of Stranje Primary School, members of the Sožitje Association, and representatives of the JSKD (Public Fund for Cultural Activities). A particularly special guest was the national selector, who expressed her admiration for the performance and the talent of the young cast after the show. The creators received numerous heartfelt congratulations, praises, and valuable constructive feedback that will surely help elevate the performance for the next stage of the competition.
At the end of March, joyful news arrived that filled the performers and mentors with pride and excitement – the musical will continue its journey to the regional showcase! It will take place in early April, again in Kamnik, giving the young artists the wonderful opportunity to shine once more on their home stage.
We are proud and grateful to the mentors, partnering dance schools, organizers, and of course, the enthusiastic young performers who, with their dedication and passion for the stage, bring our story to life. We’re already looking forward to and preparing for the next level!
FANTASTIC TIP
#28 How to motivate children for music
Spring brings new beginnings and fresh energy — it’s the perfect time to encourage your children to explore the world of music. With longer days, renewed motivation, and a burst of creative energy, perhaps now is the moment for them to finally start playing the instrument they’ve been dreaming about, or to build on the skills they’ve already gained.
Music is more than just a hobby — it’s a powerful way to develop discipline, perseverance, and creativity.

How to stay motivated to practice?
Set small goals – Instead of aiming to master an entire piece in one day, encourage your child to set realistic goals, such as learning one paragraph or improving a specific technical element. Small wins build momentum!
Create a routine – Make practice a natural part of the daily schedule, like brushing teeth. Short but consistent practice sessions are far more effective than long and irregular ones.
Praise and rewards – Every bit of progress should be noticed and celebrated! A reward can be simple — maybe their favorite song at the end of the session, or a few minutes of free improvisation.
How to find the courage to start?
Make it fun – Music should bring joy, not feel like a chore. Let your child choose songs they love, or encourage them to try playing in a group, which can boost motivation and confidence.
Ease into it – If your child feels unsure, take small steps — begin by exploring the instrument, listening to music together, or simply having a friendly chat with the teacher. There's no need to rush.
Family support – Encouragement and patience are key. When a child feels that you believe in them, it’s much easier to overcome those first-stage jitters.
Spring is a time of awakening and new challenges — support your child in taking their first steps and help them discover the joy of music!
SONATA FROM THE STREET
Two mothers of performers at the Family day concert shared their heartfelt impressions:
" Hello,
It’s hard to put into words such an event, so full of love among you – the professionals, the families, all of us. We were deeply moved, especially proud of Filip, and we’re already looking forward to the next event. Thaaaaaank you ❤️❤️❤️" - Nuša
"Dear DoReWe,
The concert was simply wonderful and unforgettable for me. It’s clear that you work with heart, and you can feel the passion and warmth in every one of you!
When I was preparing for this performance, I sometimes regretted agreeing to it — with so many other responsibilities, I still had to practice piano. But the emotions that take over when you step on stage with your children are indescribable. <3 <3 <3
I’m already excited for the next family concert!" - Tanja
LALA QUIZ

How much practice is recommended daily for maintaining concentration and progress?
a) 1 to 2 hours
b) 20 minutes
c) Daily practice is not necessary, once a week is enough
Research shows that when performing any task, whether it's working on a computer or practicing an instrument, the highest concentration and efficiency occurs within a 30-minute time frame. Scientists recommend dividing your tasks into smaller parts, taking a 5-minute break between them to allow your concentration and effectiveness to regenerate.
