DO RE WE NEWS
Open day at Hiša Jakoš
On Saturday, June 7th, Hiša Jakoš in Ivančna Gorica opened its doors to various artists and visitors. Among them was DoReWe, who livened up the event with musical performances.
Marta and Hugo Nicolas played gentle pieces on the piano. Meanwhile, Mila, as the snake Victoria, delivered a powerful rendition of a song from the musical Ella’s Impossible Dream, completely enchanting the audience. We made sure no one was bored. Even the children in the audience learned the choreography and together we all sang Jungle Harmony from the musical.
A day full of music, laughter, and new friendships — the perfect recipe for success at Hiša Jakoš! Starting in September, some of our programs will also take place at Hiša Jakoš in Ivančna Gorica. Welcome!
Musical bridge at the Walk Along The River
On Saturday, June 14th, we joined the traditional “Walk Along the River” for the very first time, an event organized each year by Modre novice.
For one day, the Titan Footbridge in Kamnik was transformed into a Musical Bridge. DoReWe and the mascot Klavirko brought their energy and created a light-hearted atmosphere that accompanied the hikers throughout the entire day.
We prepared a musical challenge that the participants surely won’t forget. Combining the classic hopscotch game with singing turned out to be a real hit — it motivated the hikers, made them laugh, and above all, let them have lots of fun.
The challenge was undoubtedly a success, and our first participation promises even more for the future. Who knows, maybe next year we’ll once again turn the Titan Footbridge into a Musical Bridge!
Music truly has the power to bring people together — even while walking!
Students' performance at the to.to. event
Later that same day, on Saturday, June 14th, our young musicians brought a true summer refreshment! At the to.to event in Domžale, where dancers and popular bands performed in a lively festival atmosphere, our students from Preserje pri Radomljah Primary School took the stage and proved that music is the best way to cool down.
DoReWe students Mark, Maša, Lia, Neli, and Pika once again showed how to liven up any event — this time with wonderful performances that truly captured the audience’s attention.
DoReWe Final concert
Sunday, June 15th, was truly the cherry on top of this musical year at DoReWe. The traditional end-of-year concert took place at the Radomlje Cultural Center.
Performances were spread across three time slots — at 10:00, 14:00, and 18:00 — each offering its own unique atmosphere and a different line-up. More than 100 students took the stage, showcasing the progress they made throughout the year. The program was wonderfully diverse: from piano pieces and vocal solos to guitar, drums, and even a mini musical. From the youngest to the oldest, every performer enchanted the audience.
The Radomlje Cultural Center was filled with music, applause, and pride. Heartfelt congratulations to all the performers for a beautiful end to the season!
FANTASTIC TIP
#31 How to stay in musical shape during the Summer
Summer is a time for ice cream, the seaside, and carefree days — but also a time when our musical skills can quickly start to “rust” if we don’t maintain them. Practicing during the holidays doesn’t mean spending long hours with your instrument, just a bit of organization and a playful spirit!
Why practice in the summer?
Research shows that just 2–3 short practice sessions per week help maintain technical skills, memory, and motivation. Without regular contact with the instrument, the body and brain start to “forget” what they’ve learned, so it’s better to practice a little, but often.
Tips for fun summer practice:

Play your favorite pieces – now’s the perfect time for music that makes you happy!
Practice outdoors – if possible, take your instrument out to the garden or balcony.
Record your own mini concert for friends or family.
Set challenges for yourself: “This week I’ll practice at least 10 minutes every day!”
Make a schedule with stickers or colors for some extra motivation.
Tip for parents:
Support a routine without pressure. Encourage your child to choose when and what to practice — having a sense of control boosts motivation!
Let summer be a time for creativity, not just rest. With a smart balance between relaxation and practice, September will be much more pleasant — and playing will flow as smoothly as a song.
SONATA FROM THE STREET
