DO RE WE NEWS

Hrošček festival

At the beginning of September, you could once again find us at the Hrošček Festival, where, as always, it was lively, loud, and full of children’s laughter. We brought along various instruments that the kids eagerly tried out. For those who love to jump, we prepared a musical hopscotch game, and for aspiring young musicians, a special musical challenge where they could test their knowledge and win some lovely prizes.

The birth of a new DoReWe member – Noa

We have some very special news in the DoReWe musical family – on September 9th, our mentors Nevena and Boris became proud parents! Their little Noa has arrived into the world.

Dear Noa, welcome among us! May your world be filled with music, smiles, warm hugs, and the little everyday miracles of life. We can’t wait to meet you and hear your very first “song”!

Heartfelt congratulations to Nevena and Boris – may your days be full of gentle tones, joyful melodies, and lots of singing together.

Car-Free day in the center of Kamnik

On Thursday, September 18th, the center of Kamnik turned into a true children’s town! During Car-Free Day, the main square was filled with children from nearby kindergartens and first grades of primary schools, who spent the day moving, playing, and learning.

Everywhere you looked, there were exciting activities, new knowledge, and of course – music! DoReWe also helped create a joyful atmosphere. Children could stop by our Music School, try out different instruments, and earn stickers for their courage.

Together, we proved that a city can be filled with energy, creativity, and laughter – even without cars!

"STOPIMO SKUPAJ" - Anthem premiere at the 13th Charity Hike to St. Primož

This year’s 13th Charity Hike to St. Primož was something truly special – not only because of the wonderful atmosphere, sunny weather, and good spirits, but also because DoReWe wrote its very own anthem, “Stopimo skupaj”! We proudly premiered and performed it at the event, where its message united all participants into one collective voice.

Our heartfelt thanks and congratulations go to Modre novice, whose exceptional organization, dedication, and warmth made the hike another great success, raising funds for good causes. 👏

A special touch was added by the mayors of the surrounding municipalities, who joined the hike, gave touching speeches at the top, and emphasized the importance of cooperation, connection, and shared values. Some even quoted the lyrics of our anthem, which will now echo even louder – as a song that reminds us we achieve the most when we step together.

FANTASTIC TIP

#33 How to choose the right instrument for home practice

Practicing outside of lessons is very important for making progress in learning and mastering your instrument. It’s essential to choose the right instrument – one that will give you a solid start or help you take the next step on your musical journey.

At DoReWe, we offer the option to rent a smaller keyboard, which is an excellent choice for beginners. Such a keyboard is lightweight, easy to use, and powerful enough for taking those first musical steps.

For more advanced players and those who have been playing for a while, we recommend renting or purchasing a larger keyboard, digital piano, or upright piano. When choosing, pay special attention to the length of the keyboard (it should have at least 88 keys) and to whether the keys are weighted, as this provides a more realistic playing feel and helps develop proper technique.

If you’re considering buying or renting an instrument, we recommend visiting trusted music retailers such as Music Max, Japan Piano Center, or the Benton Piano Salon in Mengeš. Their knowledgeable staff will be happy to advise you and help you find the instrument that’s just right for you.

SONATA FROM THE STREET

Impressions from a participant of the Summer School of Musical and her parents, after watching the final performance:

"Hello everyone,

Thank you for the wonderful experience and all the effort that you as a team put into preparing the amazing performance.

Maša enjoyed it immensely, and we are still watching the videos and marveling at what you managed to accomplish in 5 days.

Enjoy your well-deserved vacation and see you in the fall!"
